T/N: Slight precision changes were applied to the Gendou version in both Romaji and English.
“Though seeming partially over-figuratively translated to those familiar with Japanese, just think of it as Itachi’s untold words to Sasuke” That is what I said on Gendou, which I came to realize that some people imagined the translation was inaccurate. The exact cases of figurative translation I meant are as mentioned below:
1) “ano itami ga kimi no koto wo mamottekureta”
→Literally means: That pain has protected you
→I wrote: The pain that has always protected you ever since
→The literal Japanese for what I wrote would be: kimi no koto wo (are kara) mamottekureta (ano) itami
There is noremarkabledifference or any damage to the meaning, just the structure of that sentence has been changed to the extent of one noun phrase moving to the end of the sentence, and that way it fits perfectly with the preceding and succeeding context.
2) “mouichido kokoro wo tsukande”
→Literally means: grabbing my heart one more time
→I wrote: Grasping onto my heart one last time
one more time VS one last time.. “mou ichido” can be used eventually, if one is to say “one last time” in Japanese, so it’s legit! Other than that, blame my mood! I’m the ultimate Itachi-for-brains!.. and this is Itachi’s words to Sasuke.
